Admissions

Downsview Community Primary School is a mixed school for pupils aged between 4 – 11 years of age and is maintained by Kent County Council. We are a one form entry primary school with a published admission number (PAN) of 30. Should this number be exceeded, we will follow the Local Education Authority (LEA) set criteria for admission when offering places.

Places are allocated according to the authority’s published criteria which are, in priority order:

  • Looked After Children (Children in Care)
  • Current family association e.g. - a sibling in the school at the time of entry
  • Distance - nearness of the child’s home and ease of access to school

The procedure for admission arrangements at Downsview Community Primary School follows the policy and procedures written and agreed by the Local Authority. The school works closely with the Local Authority on all admission issues, however, the Local Authority are responsible for final decisions made.
