School closure work to complete

Dear Fire Class,

Mrs Wood and I would like to say how much we have enjoyed our learning journey with you this year.  You have all worked so hard and have been impeccably behaved; you are an asset to the Downsview Community.  Although this has not been the year we expected, you have all risen to the challenge and have never lost your smiles and sense of fun; two important characteristics to have. We will both miss you and we hope you will come and let us know how you are getting on in Year 2. Have a wonderful holiday with loads and loads of fun. Remember to keep trying your best and be kind. With love Mrs Hicks and Mrs Wood.

Following our work this term around All Lives Matter, the children have decided they would like to sponsor a village via Water Aid. Therefore, the children’s’ gifts this year have been forfeited to enable Fire Class to complete this gesture to help others. I am sure you will agree this an exceedingly kind and selfless act by the children. I am immensely proud of Fire Class and their values. You can’t have a rainbow without water.

Dear All,

  • Welcome back to term 6. Please note the work online will now replicate the work the children will be completing in the class.

Week 7 Emoji Week.

As this is the   last week of term we will be having fun with Emoji Characters as World Emoji Day is 17th July 2020.

RWI

The RWI videos will be available, but will take a slightly different form. All videos will be available from 9:30 am so you can choose from set 2 or set 3, whichever you feel your child needs to focus on. There will be reading opportunities for longer words and red words included in each session. Use the link below to find the lessons you need under the different categories. On the channel you will also find a Hold a Sentence video to watch to help your child get used to remembering sentences which they wish to write down. Just scroll down as you would when selecting your sounds video and it is after the red words videos.
